- UH-60L – Debuting in 1989, this helicopter included upgrades of key aspects such as the turboshaft engines, transmission, flight control systems, and structure. It had no alteration to the rotor system, although improved most other features.
- UH-60M – This version also incorporated updated features, with some examples including electronic displays within the cockpit, a new airframe, upgraded centralized processor, upgraded engines, and more.
Considered the “workhorse” of Army Aviation, the Black Hawk is expected to continue operation well into the future, with variations such as the Knighthawk and Seahawk getting specialized use. In fact, the Black Hawk line is planned to be a key component of the Army Aviation fleet through 2054.
